table tennis (ping pong) paddle or raquette or whatever it's called?

this is sad, but later today i'm going to the sports authority to buy a ping pong paddle in order to gain an edge on my little brother. I say little brother, but he's 19yrs old, and not so little. We're pretty even skill wise, so i just want a little advantage to drive him nuts. does anyone know of a good paddle? i only want to spend about $25.

You should purchase your ping pong paddle at a store like Dick's or Sport Authority or someplace like that. Juic Advance, Smasher, and Butterfly all should sell for under $30. Good luck!

on a ping pong paddle which side is spin which is power or what does each side do?

what is the purpose of the pimply side and the flat side

There is no "side". You can put whatever you want on either side. All different types of rubber with different effects. Short pips, long pips, inverted (smooth), anti-spin, whatever you want. Many types are approved by the ITTF for tournament play. You just need one red and one black.

What's the reason of having 2 different colors in a ping pong paddle/racket?

Anyone knows?

Thanks!

The International Table Tennis Federation mandates that the surface of the covering of a racket's blade must be bright red on one side and black on the other side, so that players can tell which side of the blade their opponent has used to hit the ball.

Many players use different types of rubber on each side of the paddle, often having very different characteristics. Prior to this rule, a player could surreptitiously flip his or her paddle during play to change which rubber was on the forehand side, making it much more difficult for opponents to judge how the ball would be returned. By forcing the two sides of the paddle to be colored differently, this rule allows a player to more easily tell which rubber their opponent used for any given return, making gameplay less confusing.

What's a pong Ping pong paddle?

it's almost my dad's birthday and i've been dying to buy him a good paddle because he's amazing at ping-pong. Is there any good paddle out there? please also say what the price is. I don't want an autographed on and I want it less than $189 (just to make sure I'm not willing to spend anything near that for a paddle)! Or, is there any good ping pong table?

Recently i bought a Stiga Trophy Oversize Table Tennis Bat from rebel sports it feels very comfortable and has lots of power and control. i also bought Stiga Spirit Roller Table Tennis Table
which coast me $500 and the bat was $50. i would also recommend this for a gift to your dad

Specifically, what is a modern ping pong paddle made of?

Please help me. i need to know specific types of wood, rubber, foam, ANYTHING.

Its mad of different things. Ive seen plastic ping pong paddles and wooden ones. Most of the time i think its oak wood and then a rubber padding of the fronts.

what kind of ping pong paddle should I buy?

im no pro, just a recreational player but id like to have my own paddle. should i spend about $50 , and get a premade paddle? and does a "sticky" rubber also make it harder to return shots?
thanks SEPUL… i went ahead and bought a $50 premade Butterfly, do they make plastic covers to keep it "tacky"? how long will it last? will the rubber dry out? the Stigas were not sealed like the Butterfly i bought

Buy the one that Forrest Gump promotes. That dude was killer!!!
