Table Tennis rules ?? Ping pong?

During a rally, when the ball hits on your side and you are too far back, can't reach the ball, can you let go of your racket to hit the ball?
in other words can you throw your racket at the ball when you can't reach it?
understand my question???
can you prove your answer

From past tournament experiences(ping pong tournaments),I have learned that your racquet cannot leave your hands as or after making contact with the ball.Just to make sure, I would look up the rules of Ping Pong maybe on wikipedia.

Table Tennis Rules?

If you're in the middle of a rally and you nail an outside shot into the metal base that holds your net on the table and it causes a completely missed ball to bounce up and over the net and on the table, do you still get the point?

Notice how the higher quality nets have metal bases that grip the top of the table, well that portion that is sitting on top of the table perfectly hit a ping pong ball and bounced the ball onto the opponents side of the table. So the ball never really hit the wrong side of the table, it hit the base of the net and bounced over. Does that paint a good enough picture? So does that count as good or bad?

Whenever the ball hits any part of the net ( metal construction too ) and falls into the other side of the table, the point is good! New rules even allow that in serving, there is no repeat of the serve any more.

table tennis rules anyone?

in table tennis, if the ball hits the white line, is it considered out?
thanks so much!
to add on to what kyle f said…kyle, isn't the edge the white lines…???
please add proof, thanx!

no but if it hits outside the edge it is considered out…

If you look at the table there is a thin outline of the court with no white tape. If it hits this edge, the ball is played. If the ball hits the side of the table it is "out."
