How do you train for better Table Tennis playing?

I'd like to know more training methods on how to improve my Table Tennis game. Answers will be appreciated.

Keep fit by training at your local gym and a lot of practice, preferably with someone who is better than you

help with table tennis smash?

ok me and my bro have been playing table tennis for quite a long time now and we are both pretty much at same level of ability but my bro is alot better at smashes than me and basically im always trying to return his smashes and ive becoming pretty good at getting them back but they havent got alot of power on them and usually go quite high so he can keep smashing them, can anyway give me some advise on how to return a smash with more power and turn it into a winning shot?

my smashes and drives are also not very good and alot of the time i hit them out, and when i get them there not powerful enough to make it a hard shot to return, so if anyway could give me some tips on hitting better smashes and drives that would be apprecited, and some tips on differenent serves would help aswell

cheers

It is no power you necessarily need-Sure you need a bit but the main this is creating an angle.

Good luck!

How do you apply spin in a table tennis ball launcher?

I am currently constructing a table tennis ball launcher and the design is effectively, a feeder tube leading to a box which has 2 motor-operated flywheels at the front which project the ball out. Has anybody got any ideas on how i can add various spin to the ball?

Go online and look at airsoft guns using a "hop Up" type barrel. They use a small rubber "O" ring and the backspin can be adjusted by moving the o ring mount, as the bb passes it starts a spin in the oposite direction. Same principal would apply just on a bigger than 6mm scale.

Table tennis Ma Lin ghost serve?

Hi I was wondering if anybody knows how to do Ma Lin’s ‘Ghost Serve’ here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8advrudYZs
It’s also called a ’side-under serve’. I’ve been playing table tennis for about 6 years now so I think I can do it but I don’t know the movement/technique. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.
I use the Penhold grip and use a DHS 4002 (one-sided, G888 rubber)

tou start to serve with the rubber for forehand (red) pointing at you. Throw up the ball and move the bat parralell to the end of the table (with the rubber the same way). bring it back to you at speed, but flick your wrist to point at the target.

NOTE: there are many variations of this serve
