How to be good at table tennis or badminton?

I love badminton and I play it. I am also getting into table tennis. There are these people out there that are doing amazing, get 1st place in every tournament in Toronto my city, and win awards.

What do I have to do to be like them?

well i have played badminton now for four years and i am in my highschool team. To get good, you have to learn the footwork strokes and finally, placement. You should join a badminton club in your area which offers monthly memberships and you can play there each and every day.

can i master table tennis in 1or2weeks?

i wanna join a table tennis table club, but i must pass the selection which will be held next 2 weeks..
i neva play table tennis before
can i master it in this short time?
i'm studying, so maybe my effective training time is 1week
any tips about this?

if you can play another racquet sport, badminton, tennis or squash to a good standard then you can make it in TT. Your allround agility will be a asset. All the club want to do is check that you are not completely useless, they don't expect a star player yet!

The main difference in TT is the amount of spin which is put on the ball. Borrow an old table tennis bat which reacts very little to spin so that the spin your opponent puts on the ball will have less effect.

Get accustomed to the ball coming straight for your body, when it does this play a backhand stroke. You can try this yourself with a dining table pushed up against a wall in your home.

To get used to the bat and ball, dont use a table, just stand and hit the ball in the air, swapping from forehand to backhand sides. Tricks will help- try to hit the ball with the edge of the bat, uner your leg, let the ball bounce once or not, etc. All this helps to learn the bounce characteristics of a bat and ball. The main mistake that people make is to hit the ball too hard, off the end of the table.

Good luck

Why do professional table tennis players occasionaly rub the part of the table that is near the net?

I’m talking about the area that is near the net and the baseline. If you have watched professional table tennis matches it should be clear what I am talking about. I find it strange and I’m curious to know why they do this.

They do it to rub off the sweaty hand. They used to rub the baseline but nowadays more players would opt to rub at near the net.

This is because the area near the net is least likely where the ball will be landed. In table tennis, it is almost impossible to get a hit on those area as it is too near the net.

Table Tennis?

I suck. I suck horribly. I can't beat anybody! IDK, I've done training like 50 million times, and it hasn't paid off. What should I do? Any tips?

Try to import more spin shots instead of the normal topspin shots. Aim more for the corners too. The best person to use is the Chinese players because they are built better for performance.

Can you give me some tips about how to play a game of table tennis in a championship cause I'm playing in one.

One key attribute of a table tennis player is the ability to react quickly, and the ability to move quickly.
To improve reactions, try some simple reaction tests on the computer: there are loads of these for free on the internet, where a change will occur and you have to click the mouse as soon as you can.
Whilst this might not sound too similar to table tennis, the principle of being alert is the same and it will help you hone your reaction skills.
In terms of the movement, the side to side and back to front are key skills.
Therefore in the gym or wide open space, you should practice sidestepping lunges from side to side - and just as importantly (something many forget) running forward and back.
The trick is to try to get explosive one or two stride movements programmed into your legs so you can perform them when needed!

Tips for first time table tennis player?

Hello, what tips can you give me.. ?! How can I play an effective shot, how do you spin the ball, where should you stand etc. etc. !! Tank ya

Don't expect to do well the first few times, and do expect to just have fun. You'll hit it into the net, you'll hit it long, you'll miss it completely. You'll feel like a doofus, and that's OK. With practice, you'll get better. In the meantime, just have fun and don't worry about doing well. You'll get there…

Table Tennis Tips for Beginners: What You Need To Do In Order To Bring Out your A-Game

If you love playing table tennis like many people do, then you will want to play this game all the time. Maybe you can purchase your own ping pong table and put in your basement or you can also try playing table tennis with your friends at your local recreational center. Whatever your choices are, you will want to improve your performance in order to become competitive against your friends, family, and even in local tournaments. Who knows? Maybe, you can become good enough to play in a major tournament.

You first need to remember that being good at table tennis can’t be done overnight. You need to work hard and have lots of practice in order to improve your performance.

The first thing that you need to remember in order to become good at table tennis is that you need to be in good physical and mental condition. Although table tennis doesn’t require you to have a swimmer’s body, it is a very tiring game that requires you to be quick on your feet and also quick with your ping pong paddle. Stamina is also very important in table tennis. So, in order to be good at table tennis, try some cardiovascular exercises. Just an hour of walking can keep your heart pumping and help you gain stamina. If you want, you can also get some aikido exercise videos as this will increase your flexibility and also increase the strength of your wrist which is a very important factor in table tennis.

Table tennis is also a mind game. You need to remember that you need to think fast in order to outsmart your opponent as you play your game. Try to remember the fact that you need to plan a strategy as you play. Table tennis is like chess where you need to do moves ahead of your opponent. This is why you need to relax and free your mind from everything before playing table tennis.

Lastly, try working on your backhand and forehand. It will also help if you learn about the different spins that you can put on the ball in order for you to play tactically. Practice is the key to be good at this. Although you will make some mistakes sometimes, you have to remember that nobody is a perfect table tennis player. Just know your strengths and use them.
