What color side of a ping pong paddle is for speed and which side is for spin?
I have a green and purple paddle and i wanted to know about the sides of the paddle.

Use the polished side to dissipate a spin and the grip side to impart a spin. So, yea, I guess you have one side for defending and the other for attacking. It's not so much the color as the texture of the surface that is important.

Rough for speed, smooth is preferred for control and spin. Although either type is good, it just depends on your preferance. Myself, I like a smooth paddle and can play against the faster players. Hey, my advice …. just do it!
