I was using …
I was using Butterfly Fair Chack. But now the ITTF has banned all speed glues. If you want to get a similar effect you need to try the new breed of “High Tension” or “Tensor” rubbers.
Cheers,
Jeff.

Actually the VOC-free Glue is not made for speed gluing. I have a newsletter here which say´s that the VOC-free Glue has no effect to the rubber. By the way: thank you for answering.

Hi theAnimalKid,
I’m not really sure what I’m going to do when the ban on speed glue comes into effect. I’ll have to see how well the water based glues work before I decide.

Hi XtraToe,
I would only recommend using a proper Table Tennis glue, especially if you are going to be changing your rubber. I’ve not heard of elmer’s but I would be very careful with anything that wasn’t a Table Tennis glue.

I usually put glue on the rubber and stick it to a clean glass and compress it. That result is magnificent .

I don’t think it makes a big difference. If I am gluing up dry then I don’t see the need for using a clamp. When I glue up wet I used to put it into a clamp but these days I don’t have one and I don’t think it hurts at all.

The glue will …
The glue will eventually dry and then it is OK. So if you are not using speed glue and put it on wet, then in a few hours it will be fine and you won’t have a problem. However I would still recommend that you let the glue dry.

and what about basic (non-speed) glues? on the rare few occasions that i glue my rubbers i do it before it gets dry and it seems to work fine. do you think i should wait for them to get dry after all?

You’ll get a really …
You’ll get a really bad contact each time you hit the ball. The result will be inconsistent, sometimes the ball grips and sometimes it falls off the rubber. You definitely don’t want this to happen.
